Can these towels be washed?
Yes, everything we print is laundry safe and can be washed with your whites, no problem. Our colors will not run, they will just fade over time if you wash often. Our ink manufacturer recommends cold water wash to keep the colors bright, but our clients tell us all the time that they wash our towels in hot water without a problem. If anything gets stained, we recommend that you soak the towel in a non-chlorine bleach (like Oxy-clean). Do not use bleach. Expect some shrinkage (5-10%) on any of our natural fiber products.
Where do you get your towels?
Though all our printing is done in Albuquerque, our cotton flour sack dish towels come from Pakistan. We have tried numerous times to source towels that have the same feel and absorbency domestically, but unfortunately, we have found that the towels we use are no longer milled in the USA. We go through a US distributor to import these towels.
What inks do you use?
We do not share our sources with the public, but we recommend that you look online for various resources. Most anything can be sourced online!
Do you do custom designs?
No, not really. We rarely do custom designs for individuals (for a wedding, for example), and we never print other people’s artwork or logos. We occasionally do custom work for our wholesale clients who have a track record selling with us and have reached a certain level of sales.
Do you have a store?
We have an online store that you can access through this website and a brick and mortar store located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This store is currently open W/TH/F from 10-5 and SAT from 9 until Noon. We have a big picture window through which you can watch our printing process most days!
Do you offer tours or workshops?
We offer an Open House of our studio twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. During this Open House, we give tours of the production facility and a little talk about our business history. We also offer at least one major printing workshop each summer. Look at our “Events” page for dates for our Open House days and workshops. For private tours for groups larger than 10 people, contact us by email (email@example.com) with your interest.
Where do you find your employees?
We are committed to creating good jobs for immigrants and refugees in our community. We work with Lutheran Family Services, a refugee relocation program in Albuquerque, to find new printers when needed. We also keep any resumes we receive from people interested in joining our team.
